When I was at the store over the weekend, I happened to see on the shelf there was a new product for Fiber One toaster pastries. I love their cereals, so I thought, now I can have pop tarts and not feel bad about it! So, I looked at the nutritional label. Each pastry is 190 calories. Since my kids love pop tarts, I looked at those. Each one is 210 calories. The only real difference is the Fiber One brand has 5 grams of fiber and the Kellog’s pop tart has less than one. Other than that, there is no real difference. So instead of paying more for the “healthier” version, you could eat a regular pop tart and an apple and get the same amount of fiber! I sometimes get excited when I see things that are advertised that will help me lose weight while eating the foods I love, but look closely at the nutritional information, they may not differ from the real thing!
