I can’t believe its Halloween already!! It’s going to be a great day. I can’t remember the last time it was on a Saturday, but to have the time to get costumes on, help with make-up and not have to take a vacation day from work is awesome!!
My goal today, and I’ve only done this once in my life on Halloween, is NO candy! That’s right, I said it out loud. Have you ever heard the expression “One is too many and 20 is not enough?” My thought process is that if I just say I can have one, then that will lead to many more, and I don’t need all those calories. I hope I can stick to that today.
For a re-cap of my day yesterday. Its day 3 of getting more fruits and veggies in. Some people have asked if I feel any different eating more fruits and veggies, and the answer is, I find that its so much more filling than I thought, that its prevented me from temptation, because I felt stuffed, so that’s a good thing!
For breakfast though, I had no fruits and veggies, this is what I made which was mighty tasty!
It was 3/4 cup of quinoa, 1 Trader Joe’s chicken sausage and 1 oz. of cheese. So good!
For my morning snack I had:
1 big apple with a small container of vanilla yogurt.
Since I was taking my lunch at 1:00 to run over to school to see my daughter in her Halloween parade, I decided in stead of eating my lunch I would have another snack and eat after I got back. So around 12:30 I had this:
It was 2 large carrots and a pile of grapes. To dip my carrots, I had Paul Newman’s Light Honey Mustard Dressing. Have you tried that one yet?? It’s my all time favorite of his!!
So, once I got back from my daughters school, I had a few things waiting for me, so I didn’t have time to make my soup I brought and frankly I wasn’t really that hungry, so this was my lunch instead:
I know, popcorn isn’t the best choice, but I could eat that while I worked. And it was the 94% fat free kind, so I had that goin’ for me!
And of course, many of you know what Friday is in my house: “Party Pizza Friday!”
I had 3 slices of thin crust sausage pizza. It was so good!!
And later in the evening, I cut up another big apple drizzled with a little Nutella. So, all in all I had 8 servings of fruits and veggies which is still great for me.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween, what fun plans do you have??
Here are 2 of my kids. Mark and Claire….scary Zombies!! My older son is at a party, and I forgot to take his picture!
Happy Halloween!
I am going to try and join you in not having any candy today – I havent heard that saying before, but I can definitely relate!
Happy Halloween! That quinoa looks so good right now!
Good luck on the no candy. We bought ours like 2 wks ago and I’ve been munching away on it – a piece or two a night. I’ve never had a sweet tooth so it’s easy for me to stop, otherwise I get a stomach ache!
Haven’t tried that dressing yet, but I love all of his. My all time fav. ever is his caesar. I love that all of his dressings – even the low fat ones taste good. None of that weird fat free aftertaste.
We went to a party Thurs. night w/ another couple. Today we’re just hanging around the house passing out candy. Curfew is 2-8, but we always have some a little early and a few a little late. I’ve got on black and orange striped tights, black shorts and halloween shirt w/ bat bobble headband! J’s wearing orange shirt and pumpkin bobble headband! 😛 hehe
You are doing so good with your fruits and veggies! I eat a lot of fruit, but some days have only one or two veggies…need to get better about that.
Hope you have a great Halloween with the kiddos – mine are all away at college, so I will just enjoy the neighbor kids (but hopefully NOT any of the candy, lol!)
So? Didi you have any candy? I need to know!
