Have you ever gone on a site that has copy cat restaurant recipes? I was looking for a homemade honey mustard dressing, when I found a honey mustard dressing that was similar to TGI Fridays at cooks.com. I chose to make it the same way, not trying to lighten it, because I figure I am not going to use that much at a time, so it won’t affect that much the caloric intake of the sandwich.Ingredients for the homemade honey mustard:
- 2 TB. mustard
- 4 TB. honey
- 1 TB. white vinegar
- 1/2 cup mayo (I’m sure reduced fat would be fine too)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (I’m sure you can use reduced fat on this too)
Mix all ingredients together and set aside. Take 4 skinless boneless chicken breasts, and pound them down so they are all about the same width. Season with salt and pepper. Cook in a skillet coated with cooking spray about 5 minutes per side, or until no longer pink in the middle.I use the Jewel Brand hamburger buns because they are only 100 calories, and have 5 grams of fiber. Toast the bun in a toaster, slather a little of the honey mustard on top, the chicken breast, and whatever other condiments you want. I sometimes add turkey bacon, or you could add tomato or onion. It’s a really fast and easy meal to make!!
This is one of Laura’s favorites. I’ll pass it on!
