The pizza life chose me! For the last 29 years I have had “Party Pizza Friday” and I still look forward to it to this day. Even though I love to cook, there is something about finishing work on a Friday and knowing pizza will be delivered to me. I also use my twin sister’s skinny pizza dough – have you tried it yet??? Using her dough recipe I want to show you how I make pizza waffles!
For this recipe I use a mini dash – the ones that are like $10 at Target. You can only make one at a time – but I love the small size of it. Just keep in mind if you are making more than one, each waffles takes about 5 minutes. You could keep the ones you premade in a 300 degree oven to keep warm.
What is Skinny Pizza Dough?
My twin sister Biz created this recipe in 2017. For Weight Watcher folks – for the longest time was the 2 ingredient dough. Equal parts greek yogurt and flour. That’s it. It does work for dough and bagels, but it isn’t great. My sister added a few more things and the now viral skinny pizza dough is being made by thousands of people. You can even buy her cookbook – now available on Amazon with dozens of things you can make with it! You can buy it HERE.
My Bizzy Kitchen Skinny Pizza Dough
Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp. yeast
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup water - use up to 1/3 cup water if the dough looks dry
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a bowl.
- Using a wooden spoon, mix together until the dough starts to form.
- Knead for 2 minutes until the dough comes together.
- At this point, you can roll out the dough to make pizza, or store it in a Ziploc bag and refrigerate until ready to use. Just remove from the fridge 30 minutes prior to using so it's easier to roll out.
How to make Pizza Waffles!
Using 4 oz. of dough – I made two pizza waffles.
Weigh out 1 oz of dough. Add a tablespoon of pizza sauce – and a tablespoon of shredded mozarella. Add another 1 oz. of dough on top – kind of pinch the edges together.
Place in a mini waffle iron that’s sprayed with cooking spray. Cook 5 minutes. The dough should be kind of crispy – if it looks doughy – cook for another few minutes.
Serve with your favorite pizza sauce for dipping.
For my WW friends – the dough is 1 point per oz. so both of my mini waffle pizzas is 6 points. Such a great meal!
