I can’t believe they exist, but there is a low fat/low calorie version of Ramen Noodles out there! I LOVE Ramen noodles, so I was happy to find these on the shelf at the grocery store. They were right above where the regular ramen noodles are found. The brand name is called “Choice Ramen Noodles”. Their website is www.nissinfoods.com.The best part about it, is that you can eat the whole pouch and not feel guilty. For the whole bag its only 280 calories, 2 grams of fat and 4 grams of fiber! I made this recipe from www.cookinglight.com using the Ramen Noodles. Saucy Chicken with Ramen Noodles.
- 3 (3 ounce) packages chicken flavored ramen noodles.
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into bite size pieces.
- 2 teaspoons of olive oil.
- 2 cups broccoli florets.
- 2 cups chopped red bell pepper.
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce.
Preparation:Remove seasoning packets from noodle packages; reserve 1 packet (discard other seasonings or save for later use. Cook noodles according to package directions, omitting the seasoning packets (do not drain); keep warm. Combine chicken and reserved seasoning packet in a medium bowl. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken mixture; saute 5 minutes, or until done. Add broccoli and bell pepper; saute a few minutes until tender. Stir in the soy sauce. Combine chicken mixture and noodles. Yields 9 servings (each serving 1 cup) Calories: 233*Fat: 7.5Fiber: 1.8 *The calorie count is for regular ramen noodles, using the Choice Brand the calories would be a little less!
