If you are looking for an idea of what to make for dinner using ground beef instead of burgers and tacos, this is a great idea! I use ground sirloin which is 93% fat free and wrap each one in a slice of turkey bacon (for only 20 extra calories) and bake for 12-15 minutes.
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground sirloin
turkey bacon (I like Jenni-0 Brand)
salt and pepper
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
garlic salt
In a big bowl add the meat, egg, bread crumbs and spices. Mix together and weigh out 4 oz. of meat. Form into a meat loaf shape. Wrap each one in turkey bacon and bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes.
I bake mine on a cookie rack on top of a cooking sheet so any excess fat drips off.
Serve with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots and you’ve got a great dinner!
The other great thing is that these are great leftover for lunch the next day!
What do you like to make with ground beef besides burgers and tacos, I’m always looking for new ideas!
Those work great in mini muffin tins too. Of course, you’ve made them more awesome with a little bacon.
My mouth is totally watering!
Dear Jenn, if you are interested in hosting bsi for next week, please email me.
Personally I’ve only ever made burgers, tacos and chili with ground beef but I also enjoy it in lasagna and my mom’s swedish meatballs.
