For someone who likes to blog, read blogs, check e-mail, etc… it’s been rather frustrating! After several calls to the cable company who said it was a local area problem and it should be back up in several hours, well two days has passed when a third call to them and it was fixed in about 2 minutes, just by pressing one button!
So the first two people I spoke with didn’t really know what they were talking about!
So I am way behind, so I will fill you in on my Friday!
I started out with a great smoothie. At Aldi they have this frozen fruit blend called “Fiesta Blend” with mango, pineapple, papaya and I blended that with some orange juice. 120 calories for the smoothie!
With breakfast, I brought to work some honey nut Cheerios, sprinkle of flax seed, 1 banana and 1 cup of skim milk. This breakfast kept me full all morning! 400 calories for this huge bowl!
For lunch, it was my friend Paula’s birthday, we went to a place called The Marion Street Cheese Market, in Oak Park, IL. They have gourmet cheeses, and an upscale shop, and a restaurant on the other side. I’ve eaten there for dinner, but not for lunch.
This is my friend Paula, Happy Birthday!
So there were a lot of choices on the menu….
I chose the turkey and cheese sandwich which was pressed into a panini. It was very good!
My only complaint is that that’s all I got! There are no chips, fries, fruit or pickle, just the sandwich! For $10.00 I would expect something with it. Although looking back, I didn’t need those extra calories anyway!
I hope all you Mother’s out there are having a great Mother’s Day with your family!
My sister and I had lunch with our Mom yesterday, and Mom I just want to tell you how much I love you and thank you for everything you have done for me in my life!! You are the BEST!
What is it with the internet lately?! Mine has been funky too! Glad you’re back π
That restaurant sounds great! Too bad that that sandwich alone was so expensive!
I would have cried. Or I would have gone to a place with internet, even if it meant eating three meals a day at Panera for the Wi-Fi π
So glad everything is fixed now! I would have gone crazy if I didn’t have the internet for that long.
Hi, thanks for popping by and commenting on the blueberry muffins! I wanted to let you know it’s in this month’s issue of Cook’s Illustrated and not Cook’s Country. I love Cook’s Country too. Great magazine.
Thanks Ninette!
Very weird for a sandwich to be served without even a sprig of parsley, but it looks delicious.
WHOOOAA that turkey and cheese sandwich looks amazing. But yes, for ten bucks, I would think it would be served with something else.. :S
Just came across your blog and I love it! Keep up the good work!
I love that place!!! I haven’t been there in a long time, but it was great when I went!!
I don’t know what it is about Cheerios + banana but it’s just the best combination, isn’t it?! I like the addition of flax…I bet that helped with the satiety.
