What??!?

Normally, in my non-losing weight phase I would have thought this was a great proposition. But, when you are trying to stay on track, and these things are thrown at you, you have to take a step back and think. I ordered the pizzas for the office (14 pizzas!) And pretty much for the next 1/2 hour or so, I was having this conversation with myself… “Don’t do it! You are doing so great, don’t blow it…it’s not like you’ll never have a chance to have pizza again….” That was followed by “in the grand scheme of things, what is the big deal if I just have pizza for lunch, it won’t matter that much” I decided to see what some of my other co-workers who are trying to watch their weight were going to do. To my surprise, they were not going to have pizza either. They were going to eat the food they brought, or go get Subway or something, but the bottom line was, if they were going to do it, than I could do it to! It was hard setting up the lunch and seeing all the sausage, pepperoni and gooey cheese. I really wanted to cave… BUT I didn’t and instead of feeling guilty the rest of the day, I felt great that I stuck to my plan. I almost equate eating healthy in situations like this like trying to quit smoking. (I used to smoke). You can’t imagine yourself not smoking in certain situations like at a restaurant or at a bar. But when you do stop smoking you find that you can indeed survive. If you can get through certain food situations like treats at work, or a buffet at a family party, or eating at a restaurant and you continue to make the right choices, then not only do you lose weight but food is not the only thing you think about when these situations arise. So, the next time something unexpected like that happens to me, I know I can do it, and I survived!!
