I was asked by Muir Glen if I would be interested in tasting their new line of canned tomatoes. Ummm…yeah! Since I make home made pasta sauce virtually every week, or add diced tomatoes to soups and stews, I knew I would use them.
Little did I know that I would be sent this wonderful crate of beautifully packaged tomatoes.
My 2009 Reserve kit included:
Β· One can each of the Muir Glen Organic Yolo Red diced and Muir Glen Organic Brigade whole peeled tomatoes
Β· One can each of the Muir Glen Organic Fire Roasted diced and Adobo Seasoned petite diced tomatoes
Β· Recipe cards from award-winning chefs and The Diary of a Tomato booklet with 25 delicious tomato recipes
I used the diced tomatoes with adobo in Chicken Tortilla soup. So good!
Then I used the Fire roasted Tomatoes in Slumgulion.
Next I used the yolo red tomatoes in my beef stew.
These are all recipes I’ve made before, I just added these canned tomatoes to the dishes above.
There are so many great uses for diced tomatoes!
