Most of my regular readers already know about Rouxbe Cooking School, but for those who don’t, it’s an on-line cooking school where you can learn about so many things (300 classes and counting)! The best part, you can do it from home, in your own time. For a yearly fee of only $99.00 you can take as many classes as you want and you can barely take one cooking class from a cooking school, or community college for that!
Today’s tutorial snipet is one of my favorites….roasted fingerling potatoes. If you haven’t tried those kind of potatoes, put it on your list. They have a great creamy texture and as you can see from this video, it isn’t hard to make and makes an excellent side dish! To see the full version, you can sign up for a free 14 day trial. If you want, you can sign up for a monthly fee of only $15.00 per month.

My sister always makes fun of me because I make some kind of pasta at least once if not twice a week. I make it often because there are so many different things you can do. Sometimes I’ll add some crumbled Italian sausage to the pasta sauce, or add a bunch of veggies with canned diced tomatoes and seasonings. This time, I added Turkey Pepperoni on top!
If you haven’t tried it before, it’s really good. And the best part? 17 slices is only 70 calories!!
The sauce I made is my very veggie pasta sauce, it’s a great way to get more veggies in!
Do you make your own pasta sauce or buy it from a jar/can??
If you are still buying it already made, I urge you to make it yourself, it’s so much cheaper and you can make twice as much! I can usually find 28 oz. cans of diced tomatoes for .89 cents per can! All you need to do is add your own spices, oregano, salt and pepper, maybe some diced onions and that’s it!
I’ve made my own sauce since I started cooking. In fact, I’ve NEVER bought a jar of sauce, not ever. Every time I serve it to someone new they always say it’s the best sauce they’ve ever had. I’m not sure why people think a basic red pasta sauce is so hard, because it’s not!
I’m puttin’ those potatoes on my list!
